SFO Announces Emylene Aspilla as Chief of Administration, Strategy & Resilience
Experienced Bay Area leader will head human resources, DEI, social impact and sustainability functions
SAN FRANCISCO – September 14, 2026 – The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) today announced the appointment of Emylene Aspilla as Chief of Administration, Strategy & Resilience (CASR). In this new role, Aspilla will lead People, Performance and Development (PPD), Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Strategy and Social Impact, and Sustainability teams.
"I am pleased to announce Emylene as SFO’s Chief of Administration, Strategy & Resilience,” said Airport Director Mike Nakornkhet. “Emylene brings a proven track record of helping organizations create equitable, effective systems that support employees, communities, and organizational performance. I look forward to her contributions in this new role.”
Prior to her appointment, Aspilla served for four years as the Director of the City of Oakland’s Department of Workplace and Employment Standards (DWES), where she led that city’s enforcement of municipal labor standards and business inclusion laws. Prior to that role, she spent seven years at SFO as the Director of Social Responsibility and Community Sustainability. Prior to this, Aspilla served as the Director of Strategic Initiatives, Office of Economic and Workforce Development for the City & County of San Francisco, and also worked at the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation.
